It’s time to update the look of your yard. The old concrete pool deck is looking shabby, but you can’t decide if you want to replace it with poured concrete or pavers. There are pros and cons to each of them and we don’t want to play favorites, but we would love to enter the discussion.
First of all, pavers come in an assortment of finishes, sizes and styles, so at first glance, they are more versatile. When we use pavers, you can play with the design and customize the overall feel you want for your home. Pavers are individual blocks, so if one gets worn out or broken, it can be replaced without having to re-do an entire area. They are great for patios, walkways, pool decks, driveways and garden areas. They are low maintenance and just require a little upkeep and perhaps refilling the sand between the pavers every so often.
Concrete has advantages as well. With the new techniques out today, I can pretty much make concrete look like anything but concrete. With the different stamps and colors that are available, your patios and walkways don’t have to be boring just because they are concrete. Let’s say for example you love the look of blue stone. Bluestone is beautiful, but it is also expensive and the installation, depending upon the pattern you choose, can be more expensive than concrete. With our ability to stamp concrete and blend different colors, it could be much less expensive to use stamped concrete for your patio or walkways.
In general, the upfront costs for pavers will most likely be higher, but on the back-end, if you get a crack or a broken pavers its easier to replace than it would if you are dealing with concrete. The best thing to do is for us to get together and discuss what your ideas are and your budget, and we can figure out the best choice for you.
